The song came to me on a beautiful fall morning, with birds circling near my window, above the tips of tall trees, and amidst the Manhattan skyscrapers. I was transported back to the day when I first left Beijing to live in Paris. It was that same fall feeling, sunny and crisp. With a big suitcase, long trench coat, and banana twist hair, I flew away, like a bird, above the strongest Sequoia trees on earth. Leaving the east. Traveling far, far away from home. To be free. To be me.
From the day I was created, the Violet energy embraced me. Born to an ancient family in Beijing, I am rich in tradition but free in spirit.
I have traveled the world in search of my artistic voice – from Paris, to London, to Sydney, to Cape Town, to Los Angeles, and now, to New York.
My search culminated in a moment of enlightenment, where I realized that I am compelled to express myself through music. Sequoia East is the start of this journey. It is my creative calling, my highest purpose, and the gift that I share with you.
